Hillsboro Baptist Church
Worship Services   home  - sermon/message audio

Hillsboro is the 10:00 worship place!

In June 2008, we moved to a single blended worship format - traditional hymns and litanies alongside contemporary songs and creative worship elements. And we're lovin' it. The 10:00 service allows for families to get home a bit earlier, giving them a little bit of morning left to enjoy even after being at church.

Dress is casual, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The service includes the use of multi-media, humor, and the involvement of church members in worship leadership. To add extra interest and to look more deeply into various issues, we plan worship around changing multi-week themes. For instance, we spent a few weeks debunking wrong ideas about our faith in our "Spiritual Mythbusters" series, and looked at God's promises of rest and renewal in our summer "Back to the Islands" series. Check the newsletter (link below) for the current themes and other worship information.

Miss a Sunday? Want a preview? The message from most Sundays is posted to the website early in the week. You can check out past messages by going to our Worship Message Audio page (click here). You can also get to that page by selecting "Worship Services" (this page) from the lefthand column on the home page, and choosing "Sermon/Message Audio" at the top of the page (see above).

Something special for children: KidMo! Just before worship, parents are invited to bring their children to the Fellowship Hall (lower level, back of the church building) for a special, high-energy, multi-media worship experience designed just for them. It's certainly not mandatory - your child is welcome to worship with you. But it's definitely a lot more exciting. At the end of KidMo! the children return to the Sanctuary to join their parents for the last few minutes of regular worship (so you don't have to go looking for them).

Bible Study, anyone? - Don't forget that our 10:00 worship time is preceded by a 9:00 Bible study time. Classes for our senior adult men and women meet in the upper level of our educational building, and the Pastor's class, led by Dr. Thompson, meets in the room off of the Sanctuary. Other classes and groups are often available, too. More specific information about worship and about current Bible study themes is available in our monthly newsletter, which is available in PDF format here on our website: 'Soul Food' Newsletter
